In this week's episode of the Cabin Build Series, we're installing Rockwool insulation in the floor of our off grid cabin. It's important to insulate a cabin, to ensure it keeps cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter. This easy method uses battens and plywood to create a false floor that the mineral wool insulation sits on top of, then we'll enclose this with an OSB woodchip floor. This base frame of the cabin will be strong and secure, for us to construct the walls on top of, to build our "cabin in the woods".

We've chosen mineral wool insulation for the to insulate the floor of our wooden tiny house - it's readily available in Spain, cost effective and easy to install. The Rockwool insulation process was very simple and it was easy to cut to size, to fit the wooden cabin base frame.

In this video we also share some updates from the garden - the fig trees and the olive trees - and talk about "air layering" which is a process we'll be usi. g to grow more fruit trees on our land in the future.
