Daphne Quay your Boss Lady Realtor here in Austin, TX. In todays video, I'm going to discuss everything you need to know about selling your home in Austin in 2022.

2021 was a huge year for home sales in Austin. The housing market was featured in many national news programs. Homes regularly were selling for over $100k more than their asking price. Many homes would be on the market for just a few hours before multiple offers were submitted and a contract was sign. A big part of this was there was way more demand for houses than homes for sale.

However, towards the end of 2022, the housing market in Austin has significantly improved. Due to so many people making a ton of money on home sales, more people in Austin decided it was a good time to sell. This increased the inventory and helped ease the demand. Now that we are in the holiday season of 2021 the number of homes has returned to normal and homes are starting to sell closer to their asking price. However, historically there are fewer home sales during the holidays. So there is more inventory on the market now. However, there may be more people waiting to put their homes on the market in Spring of 2022 which would create a buyers market. Right now it's all speculation, the truth is we don't know what will happen in Spring of 2022.
